Inkblot animals
Inspired by Martha's post, I created this series of Inkblot animals using acrylic paint. I'm so pleased with the result - especially with the texture created by the rivulets of thick acrylic paint pressed together.

Wee Three Dee
Playing with polymer clay as I remember being fascinated as a child, by pictures that had an extra touchy dimension to them.

I'm not much of a baker...
...but mushy bananas give me no choice but to turn on that oven to 275F. I use my mom's very simple banana bread recipe, and breakfast for the kids is taken care of for a few days.

40 Colouring Pages to Save the Planet!
This blog is in French (there's an English translation option) but it offers lovely coloring pages for download with ideas on how to conserve. I think this is a common idea no matter what language we speak.

Innocent?
There's something so sweet about boys doing embroidery. Until, of course you see the subjects... he's done alligators swallowing pieces of deer, and all manners of gory stuff! Pretty amusing to watch. I should post pics of the finished pieces.

The Weather
While the rest of the country is hunkering down, Floridians are finally coming out of their air-conditioned homes! The air is beautiful and cool and free of moisture - what a joy. When we lived in California we took the good weather for granted. Now we savour every beautiful day, go to the park often, and plant veggies in winter. Oh, and pretend to be peacocks every chance we get.

Wee all need to watch this!
I was over at Helen's blog and saw this. I was already aware of how bad the situation was, but this clearly brought it home. As an owner of a small business, we are always having to think up strategies to do well in the marketplace and it's our responsibility to come up with the right choices. I was relieved that Wee Gallery products are made well and made to last. And a lot of them are made using local resources. As a family, we try as much as possible to leave a small footprint, eating local organic, recycling, thrifting and avoiding Big Box Land. But still not as much as I wish I could do. I think this way of life is soon going to become a neccessity.

New Animal Appliques
Our newest product that we showed at NY Gift is for the crafty people out there. Fun fabric iron-on patch to dress up clothing, or accessories like bags, aprons, pillows etc! They can also be used to cover up a small hole or stain on clothing. No sewing required, but sewing lends a special touch. Approximately 5" wide, 4" high. They are being listed in the Etsy Shop.
