Last Minute Easter Download

We are making Easter bunnies this Saturday. I know, last minute, but that has somehow become our way! I thought we'd share anyway, so if you'd like to print out these bunny hug cards, and either attach them to a lollipop, or to a popsicle stick for a little puppet, click on the black and white bunny picture at the bottom of this post, print on card, and cut out.

Visitors

When we moved from our home office, I was worried about how the kids would adjust. We bring them to the new office after school, at least 3 times a week. So far it has worked out. Hope it continues!

Tibetan Tiger Rugs

Great new rugs by Elizabeth led me to this fascinating back story.

"Tiger skins have always figured prominently in Buddhist paintings and sculpture. It is said that the tiger skin brings luxuries suitable for a king, creates anger, and keeps the aspirant away from snakes, scorpions and other insects. It protects the Yogin from obstacles and environmental disasters. Only those in power and authority own and use tiger rugs, i.e. those who make laws, sit in judgment and mete out punishment. It was probably not until the 19th Century when tiger pelts imported from India became scarce and extremely expensive that the rug became a reasonable long-lasting substitute. They are very rare – less than 200 of the authentic pieces have survived."

The text and photographs below is from this set on Flickr.

Does seaweed retain it's color when dry?

Yes, yes it does. This Sunday we picked up some of this gorgeous colored seaweed on the beach, and I wondered whether the pinks and creams would stay that way or turn brown, or fade. Here's the answer. Can't beat nature's design.

Product Recall

For the first time in seven years, we have an unfortunate announcement to make.

It has come to our attention that a large proportion of Farm and Black & White Art Cards for Baby have been sold with a cosmetic defect. Batch 29 produced in January 2011 had some glue residue on the black side of the card, but only in the Farm and Black & White Collections.  There is no danger from the glue, as it is non-toxic, but it does give the cards the appearance of having been used, even though they are new.   Some are quite clearly affected while others may only have a drop or two of glue visible.

You can see what batch your cards are by looking on the back of the box, in the bottom right corner, outside the black line.  The batch number is printed in small white letters along with the date of manufacture.

If you have purchased a set of these cards, from us or through one of our retailers, we will be happy to replace the cards at no cost to you.  Please email us at recall@weegallery.com and let us know which set you have and the extent of the defect.

Wee Gallery takes the quality of its products very seriously and so we are taking the proactive step of reaching out to all our customers who may have received these less than perfect cards.
